Waleed Dawood (chairperson) is a lawyer with a passion for hiking. He joined the Butterfly Art Project because he believes that creativity in young South Africans is key to a healthy society.
Art teacher Nerina de Villiers enjoys hiking, is an avid painter and a fynbos flower enthusiast. She got involved with BAP because she believes in bringing art and the community of Vrygrond together.
Naziema Jappie (secretary), Director at UCT for the last 3 years, has always been in involved with NGO’s and believes that giving time and knowledge back to the community is essential. Her hobbies and interests include horse riding, travelling and reading.
Yasmina Burton (treasurer), an Chartered Account at Mazars for the last year enjoys spending time with her family and reading. She joined BAP because she wanted to give back to the community.
We also have our active board members: Tobias Wrona, Malia Parker and Bärbel Brandes, who were absent on the day.
