About Manifesting the New...
The art campaign, “Manifesting the New,” designed by the Butterfly Art Project team, offers Community Art Facilitators (CAFs) an opportunity to be part of a 7-month long project that includes 4 x 3hr workshops of training, 8 weeks of implementation with children from disadvantaged communities, CAFs online mentoring (one on one/group) and an exhibition.
The indirect beneficiaries of this project are children and youth that are taught by our CAFs, whom are mentored throughout the art campaign. The mentoring process encourages implementation and helps BAP to monitor the effectiveness of our training.
The exhibition will showcase all final artworks and documentation of the process of the art campaign. All our CAF participants and their beneficiaries are invited to see their work professionally displayed in a public exhibition space. This instills pride and provides a link to an art buying society which disadvantaged beneficiaries rarely have access to.
With the this campaign, we aim to empower children and youth. The painting process will teach them how they can be present, realising the needs of the moment, listening to the future impulses and then taking action to create something new. The painting process will guide participants in how they can honour the past by building on the good foundations or avoid making the same mistakes. By acknowledging the current situation with all the evil in the world and still have hope for a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Participants will hopefully build the courage to stare their challenges in the face and choose to move on and work on a better tomorrow.
our Virtual exhibition Launch....
Manifesting the New
We had to host our exhibition launch virtually due to the level 4 restrictions but that did not stop us from putting on an amazing show.
We would like to thank our viewers who tuned into our livestream.
